How to Beat the Late Summer Heat


The dog days of summer are soon to be over. Even in the late stages of summer, it can be challenging to escape the relentless heat. You cannot hide indoors in the air conditioner all summer. There are ways to escape the late heat without losing your mind.

Drink A Lot of Water

Your body is made up of almost entirely water, so take the necessary steps to keep your body hydrated. You sweat a great deal more during the hot months requiring more water intake. Keep a good stockpile of ice in the freezer to keep the cold water on tap. Stock your water bar at home with sliced lemons, cucumbers, and a variety of fruits to make the water more appealing to your taste buds. Try to avoid sugary drinks and alcohol because they will make you more thirsty.

Check Your Air Conditioner

Whether you live in California or New York, the late days of summer produce unbearable amounts of heat in the age of global warming.
