Google Drive

If you use the G-Suite or you prefer to use android devices then Google Drive is the ideal cloud solution for you. There is a generous amount of free storage at 15GB, something which lots of other cloud services don’t offer and as always this can be upgraded if you need more. One of the key selling points for Google Drive is that you can store an unlimited amount of high-res photos and make use of Google’s version of the office suite.

Another affordable solution, pCloud is one of the very few cloud services that offers a one-off fee (subscription). That is if you even need more storage as the free version offers 10GB. While some other platforms might put limits on the size of the files you can back up to your cloud, this one doesn’t. This means you can sync very large files if you need to.

That said, the platform advertises itself as a ‘personal cloud space’ so it might not be the ideal solution for larger businesses. However, it has a really user-friendly interface, a 30-day trash history in case you accidentally delete something you shouldn’t have and the service is available on all desktop and mobile devices.

Backblaze Business

Backblaze comes with a range of impressive features and no limits on capacity or bandwidth which is great news for businesses or those storing large amounts of data. It has been one of the favourites with consumers for years and much like the iDrive service the company will send you external discs and USBs if you lose your data. But better still, if you send these back within 30 days you’ll be given a full refund!

Though there is no option for different plans, this is an affordable solution at a flat yearly rate. As part of the plan, your cloud service includes an anti-theft feature for extra security. What this does is records the IP address of your computer when it connects so it can spot any strange activity or help to locate the device should it be stolen or hacked.
